Well I think its unfair that the National Anthem can only be sang by 1 Language and I recently learned that we have so many languages in the Philippines, so the way we are promoting national identity needs to be re visited and studied. My parents are Kapampangan but I recently learn that we have relatives in the bisayan regions, so according to the law my relatives in cebu cannot sing the national anthem in their language? are they not Filipino as well? :(

When I discovered Kulitan and information about pre colonial Philippines, to be honest I had an Identity crisis. WHy? I had no clue we had so much rich cultures, now I feel awful because we are using the identity the colonizers bestowed on us without knowing our History and multi cultures. Like I had no clue Kapampangan was a language not a dialect of tagalog. THere so much we need to do , we must unlearn what the colonizers used to brainwashed us and relearn our roots.

We are all FIlipinos, period. Me and my son used to argue about this. but I understand now why we must preserve Kapampangan, his frustrated with me. My husband speaks tagalog eventhough his family is Kapampangan but he was raised speaking tagalog. but i teached my sons speaking kapampangan. Filipino identity shows Tagalog language i think that is the problem , maybe we should show the world that FIlipinos is not just tagalog but many like kapampangan, bisaya, ilokano bicolano etc.

I just finished reading the article. RA 8491 should be amend! It is a law the discriminates our other fellow FIlipinos! Why can't my mother who is cebuano and father who is Kapampangan sing it in both their mother tongue? Na buwang sila! Memurit la reng bolang!

I think that law that prohibits other Filipino dialects or languages to sign the National Anthem is wrong, it alienate other non tagalog pinoys its not good it is wrong
