I want to share my thoughts about the impact of the pandemic in our economy in the Philippines. Many Businesses will probably file for bankruptcy this year and jobs will be hard. I strongly agree that now is the best time to start your e-commerce business.
  • Why Start now?

Online market share increased exponentially during pandemic. Many people are staying home ordering everything online.

After the crisis many people will still fear going out so they will prefer to order online then delivery.

More Online Services and products needed because of the Pandemic.

Food sector will be in demand because many Factories were shut down and imports halted.

    • Who can save the Economy?

The MSME of Philippines employ roughly 70% of the work force. If we do not stay competitive and stay afloat who can save us but ourselves?

Jobs are needed. Going abroad is not an option at the moment so the only way for Filipinos to open opportunities here are for MSMEs to create new competitive products & services.
Entrepreneur means to "to under take". Now is the time for us to undertake the largest challenge of our country. We must over come this for the future generations, our children and their children.

Sincerely,
Taram Kalis

One thing I noticed about Philippines is that they want to do Ecommerce through Facebook. People don't go there to shop so its not really a decent platform to start ecommerce. I think its ok for advertising exposure but not really a place to do business.

Social Media is good for introducing a product to the market and advertising but if you look at most companies they all have their own direct website to order from. For example take a good look at all the Indie make up companies you can buy directly from their sites, its good too because it prevents counterfeit products.

yes I strongly agree. Everyone left facebook years ago but for some reason people in EU/south east asia still active in it. Its probably the attachment from Friendster and Myspace if you look at the design its closely similar to the extinct platforms. Its true though fb is decent in exposure but as for main platform for selling, i strongly disagree because if you look at all the businesses that stayed in FB closed down.

Not a busines owner but I agree that every business should have an online presence. People my age use social media accounts to surf around info and then go directly to the business website. Its because we feel more secure if the business have an ecommerce website, for transactions paying via credit card etc or paypal. cod is ok but carries cash around these days?

A lot of developed countries dont carry cash anymore but i think in PH, because of lack in cyber security the paperless transaction industry is still lacking.
